TOUR PROGRAM
Day 1 Istanbul-Gallipoli
Early morning depart from Istanbul for afternoon tour of Gallipoli. After arriving in Canakkale, you will have lunch in a hotel. After lunch you will begin the tour of Gallipoli. Canakkale war was a campaign of World War I in the Ottoman Empire between 25.april 1915. to january 1916. The war formed the basis for the Turkish war of Indepedence and declaration of the Republic of Turkey 8 years later under Mustafa Kemal Ataturk who was commander at Gallipoli. At Gallipoli you will visit Brighton Beach, Beach Cemetery, Anzac Cove, Ariburnu Cemetery, Anzac Commemorative Site, respect to Mehmetcik Statue, Lone Pine Australian Memorial, Johnston's Jolly (Turkish Anzac trenches and tunnels), Turkish 57. Infantry Regiment Cemetery, The Nek, The Chunuk Bair New Zealand Memorial. After tour transfer to Canakkale, dinner. Overnight in Canakkale.
Day 2 Troy-Pergamum-Kusadasi
After breakfast in your hotel, you will start tour of Troy, famous for the legendary Troyan Horse, from the times of beautiful Hellen, queen of Sparta who cause the war between Troy and Sparta. On the tour you will see The Wooden Horse, Cultural Strata of Troy, hear a story about Helen and Paris, Hector and Achilles. After lunch you will go to an important Greek-Roman ancient city Pergamum, where you will visit Acropolis, one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world, Library which once held 200 000 books, Temple of Trayan built with purpose to provide a venue for the religious cult of both rulers (Trayan and his successor Hadrian) as well as Zeus, Red Basilica, Altar of Zeus. Dinner. Overnight in Kusadasi.
Day 3 Ephesus
After breakfast in your hotel you will go to Ephesus, where you will feel ancient spirit while you are walking through Artemis Temple, Celsius Library,Temple of Hadrian, The Fountain of Trayan, Theater. Lunch in Seljuk. Drive to Virgin Mary's House which lied between Magnesium Gate of Ephesus to the Bulbul Mountain. During that years Christianity was forbidden. St.John who was one of the leading founders of Christianity, he brought Virgin Mary to Ephesus, hid her in a house, which he built among forests on the skirts of Bulbul mountain. It is believed that Virgin Mary stayed at the house on the Bulbul Mountain and died there. End of tour transfer to Izmir airport for the flight back to Istanbul.
